The goal of this Pre-Calculus course is to broaden students’ pre-existing knowledge of functions and to introduce new classes of functions such as: rational functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions. Students will learn to analyze each of these different types of functions, determine their important characteristics, solve equations involving these functions, and sketch a detailed graph of each type of function. All of these skills are precursors to what is required in a Calculus course and each will be necessary to be successful in a Calculus course. Students will also learn the basics of counting in order to calculate the probability of different events occurring.
Students will have to opportunity to earn college credits by taking Pre-Calculus through Moraine Park Technical College that will transfer to a variety of different post-secondary institutions. For more information, please contact Mr. Haan!
